1984: Foundation of the Institut de Conciergerie Internationale

Objective: to provide concierge training and sustain the profession.

KEY DATES

1929-1932

Pierre Quentin President and founder of the “union professionnelle des Concierges des Grands Hôtels” ends his career as Concierge at the hotel Continental, Paris.

1945

Presidency of the “Clefs d’Or” taken over by Ferdinand Gillet, Chief Concierge at the hotel Scribe, Paris.

1973

Presidency of the Clefs d’Or by Jean Gillet (son of Ferdinand), Chief concierge then manager of the hotel Meurice, Paris.

1983

Creation of the Ferdinand Gillet Foundation - Institut de Conciergerie Internationale to provide teaching and training for future concierges.

1984

Awards ceremony for the 1st ICI graduation class at the George V hotel, Paris.

1996

Presidency of the Clés d’Or by Gérard (Danny) Dialo Chief Concierge at the Powers hotel, Paris.

1998-2011

Presidency of Danny Dialo at the ICI.

2006

Sophie Niel, 1st woman elected to the Clefs d’Or committee and graduate of the ICI 1998 class.
